Maceri’s started creating Soup & Subs back in 1984 at their Fruit Market on Detroit’s eastside known as Tom Maceri’s Fruit Market. Their Subs by the Foot have been a long time favorite. Anthony made his famous Italian Sub sold in the deli department. It was called a Fatso Sub. It was 4 inches long and 4 inches high loaded with quality meat and cheese. The Soups made from scratch were made with the finest Maceri Produce. Some of the favorites were “For Real” Vegetable made with 30 types of vegetables, Stracciatella, Chicken Pastina, and Minestrone. The soup list has grown to 150+ varieties made from scratch, today found at Maceri’s Soup & Scoop, Pitas & Subs.
Ashby’s Sterling Ice Cream was also developed in 1984. They created an ice cream that tastes as good as it looks. Loaded with premium add in’s, there is no need to add mix ins.
