Maceri’s Soup & Scoop, Pitas & Subs is an Ashby’s Ice Cream Parlor located in Shelby Twp, Mi serving old fashioned goodness. We have been serving up old fashioned belgian waffles and ice cream from the beginning. We now serve chocolate waffles which can be eaten for breakfast, as a Sundae, or a waffle ice cream sandwich. The chocolate waffles are great as a Sanders Hot Fudge Sundae served with your choice of Ashby’s Sterling Ice Cream, Sanders Hot Fudge, Whip Cream, Nuts, and a Cherry.
Here’s a recipe for a quick and easy last minute dessert. Serve warm with sundae topping and ice cream for a decadent dessert that’s perfect for any occasion.
- 1 cup flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 tsp.vanilla
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
Preparation -
Combine the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and salt in a medium mixing bowl. Add the buttermilk, eggs and vanilla and whisk until well blended. Gradually add the melted butter and whisk until smooth.
Bake in a preheated waffle iron, according to manufacturer’s directions.
Serve warm, with hot fudge sundae topping or raspberry sundae topping plus whipped cream or ice cream.
