Maceri’s Soup & Scoop, Pitas & Subs began in 1984 as a passion the company’s founders thought about as they made soup in the back room at their fruit market, it is also where their subs were first made. The parent company, which distributes wholesale produce and food, gave them knowledge and ability to create the soup with the finest produce. Having also come from families in the restaurant business, they have created exclusive soups along with family traditions. Being in the back doors of many restaurants over the years, they realized that there were many more soup varieties to be made. Unlike most places, they don’t have soups offered on a given day; they stand out for their constantly changing variety of daily soups.

With over 65 years combined foodservice experience, this husband and wife team created a soup company with the knowledge and inspiration of generations of experience. One coming from restaurants, the other from both wholesale and retail produce and restaurant experience. Having over 40 years in the wholesale produce industry, he know how to pick the finest produce. Together they developed the hot and cold comfort food concept.

Welcome to Maceri’s Soup & Scoop, Pitas & Subs, Catering and Delivery. We are a soup company serving our famous Pitas and Subs that originated at our fruit market in 1984 on Detroit’s eastside, Salads, and award winning Ashby’s Ice Cream parlor.
Fresh homemade soup is our specialty. Our soups also started 26 years ago at Tom Maceri Fruit Market. Maceri Produce has been a staple in Detroit’s Eastern Market since 1936. Being in the back of the house in many restaurants, gave us the knowledge to further our vision. Growing up in his mother’s pizzeria in Grosse Pointe, Mi, Anthony is an expert in pizza and sub sandwich creating. His famous “For Real” Vegetable soup is still made today with over 30 vegetables recieved direct from growers to the family’s warehouse.
