In 1984, President Ronald Regan declared July as National Ice Cream Month, with the third Sunday in July to be National Ice Cream Day. It is the same year Ashby’s was created. In celebration of summer and ice cream, on July 18 from 12pm-6pm, Maceri’s Soup & Scoop®, Pitas & Subs will be offering scoops of ice cream at vintage prices. Their small kiddie scoop, which is actually a double scoop, will be $.50. Maceri’s Soup & Scoop® has received awards for their Milkshakes and Tornado® Shakes, which are extraordinary thick shakes you eat with a spoon. They are like soft serve in a cup made with premium ice cream.
Ashby’s was recently on the Foodnetwork Unwrapped, “The Ice Cream Dream”. It is a Michigan company created by the Davis family from Tom Davis Dairy. You can find Ashby’s ice cream along with Maceri’s homemade treats locally in Shelby Township, Mi at Maceri’s Soup & Scoop®, Pitas & Subs on the corner of 21 Mile and Hayes. 586-566-7484. www.soup-scoop.com.
