It is the same year Ashby’s was created. In celebration of summer and ice cream, on July 18 from 12pm-6pm, Maceri’s Soup & Scoop®, Pitas & Subs will be offering scoops of ice cream at vintage prices. Their small kiddie scoop, which is actually a double scoop, will be $.50. Maceri’s Soup & Scoop® has received awards for their Milkshakes and Tornado® Shakes, which are extraordinary thick shakes you eat with a spoon. They are like soft serve in a cup made with premium ice cream.

Ashby’s was recently on the Foodnetwork Unwrapped, “The Ice Cream Dream”. It is a Michigan company created by the Davis family from Tom Davis Dairy. Chocolate Ice Cream Soda

Chocolate syrup, vanilla ice cream, and soda water.

Root beer float

Also known as a “black cow” or “brown cow”, the root beer float is  made with vanilla ice cream and root beer,  a float made with root beer and chocolate ice cream is a chocolate cow or a “brown cow.”

Boston cooler

The Boston cooler was originated in Detroit, Michigan. It is made with Vernors and Vanilla ice cream.  Unlike a float however, a Boston Cooler is blended like a thick milk shake.

Snow White

Made with 7-Up or Sprite and vanilla ice cream.

Coke float

Made with Coca-cola and Vanilla ice cream.

Purple cow

Grape soda and vanilla ice cream.

Sherbet float

It is also possible to make a float using any kind of sherbet and ginger ale, vault, or sprite.
